I spend 8 hours a day writing code on the Bad Computer. Some of my spare time, I spend writing video games on the Good Computer. The ones I've written myself live here, the ones I've written as part of a group are at What Guns?
I've been making video games since the early 2000s when I downloaded that Russian hacked copy of RPG Maker 2000, but I didn't start actually programming anything until after I graduated college. In 2014, some friends and I decided to get together and compete, over a weekend, in Ludum Dare 30. We all learned a lot, and we came up with a product that we're all very proud of, Tether. Since then I've enjoyed making games as part of a group, but I've also realized that it can be fun to develop a game solo. I have no intention of doing game development professionally, for now it's just a fun hobby.
I don't know any game engines. I've dabbled in GameMaker, Unity, and especially Godot, but I'm a rank amateur in all of them. I prefer to make games for web browsers, using JavaScript or TypeScript to manipulate HTML canvas. I've done a small amount of development for Game Boy, but writing in Z80 Assembler gives me a headache, and I'm not sure if I'll ever complete a decent GB game. My games are always 2d, and the ones I make myself have a pixel-art aesthetic, because that's the only kind of art that I can create.
I hope you enjoy my games!
